For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4 KJV)
Hope is a very important component of our mentality. It is that component that strengthens and assuages the soul with strength and comfort. It provides fortitude to persevere and courage to continue.
Hope is future anticipation of good; it is the interest and focus that project, foresee, and predict something good is ahead and will happen. Hope is the impetus, force, impulse, and stimulus that makes on forge ahead despite opposing or contrary situation/evidence.
About Hope, the Bible says, “There is hope only for the living. As they say, “It’s better to be a live dog than a dead lion!” (Eccl. 9:4 NLT). Hope, according to the Bible is an attribute of the living, a characteristic offering for the living and not the dead. So, when a Man no longer has any offer of Hope, such person is biblically, dead. It is therefore, cogent, important, and urgent that we nourish and vitalize our souls continually with articles, materials and products that marinate the soul with Hope.
Now, talking about articles, materials and products that marinate the soul with Hope, it is important to verify where Hope is derived or what one anchors Hope upon. It is commonplace to find that many have put hope in what would not deliver and had in essence failed and ashamed of their Hope. This is where wisdom and caution meet as we seek to gain Hope in Life’s traverse and journey.
The Psalmist says of his Hope, “Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.” (Psalm 119:49-50). Notice where the Psalmist derives Hope, The WORD OF GOD.
Beloved, Hope, is the comfort of the Scriptures. When we look intently into the Word of God, it causes us to gain Hope and thereby are quickened, made alive and forge. Awake, Arise and Go forward at the WORD of GOD.
