There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. (Psalm 46:4 KJV).
The first mention and the referenced occasion/appearance of Water in the sage book of Life, the Bible was about a devastated, disintegrated void space and darkness that is about and upon the Waters. About this the Bible says, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Gen. 1:2 KJV).
The only surviving element was Water that decimated every other thing. Apparently, everything had been voided projectably by the surviving element that broke all other item. It is in this context that we must note and notice the potential crippling effect of the Waters.
In the New Testament, our blessed Lord Jesus Christ, remarked on the test by the Waters on and against everything built. In that reference it was said, “…a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house…” (Luke 6:48 KJV). Note, “…when the flood arose.” is a matter of time not chanced if. Waters (flood) typically arise, and the quest is to beat vehemently upon whatever is built. It must therefore not surprise any Man that Waters do seek to overwhelm, overrun, submerge or drown everyone from time to time. The caution and care therefore is to build our lives, homes, businesses and enterprises against the threats and risks of the vehement pounding of the Waters.
Against the incursion and invasion of the Waters, the Bible provides a secure refuge when it says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. Psalm 46:1-4 KJV).
The river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God; is the Precious Holy Spirit of whom Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)” (John 7:38-39 KJV).
Beloved, we desperately need The Holy Spirit to survive and navigate the treacherous tendencies of the Waters as we sojourn and traverse Life’s course. Therefore be wise and Filled with the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18 KJV).
