Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. (Psalm 90:1)
A dwelling is also described as an abode, residence, habitation, or home. It is the rudiment or traditional place of someone’s housing. It characterizes in many ways the unique attributes of a person, animal, or plant’s attributes.
Animals whose dwellings are on hills, trees or water for instance all have unique and differentiated attributes that make them adaptable to their respective dwellings or habitat. Other organisms that don’t have applicable and adaptable features will not be able to dwell or survive in those habitations for which they are not naturally equipped.
This premise naturally highlights God’s design and definition of respectively habitations or dwellings. When any organism wanders away from its defined habitation, hardship, peril and death is the natural consequence.
For Man, God himself is identified as our dwelling place. Bible says, Acts 17:28, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being…”. This notice and its understanding should naturally inform and direct our effort to stay within our defined habitat for live and all that pertains to it.
Beloved, it hurts or rather kills to wander or separate oneself from the fountain of life. Let’s us return and rather be fastened to our dwelling place; God! As the Bible puts it, “For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” (Psalm 36:9 KJV).
