He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. (Psalm 66:7)
Power has various definitions, but the summary of the notion of Power is the ability to produce an effect. It is the effect derived from the exercise or use of Power that elicit the nature or extent of Power. It is important to have or exercise Power otherwise change will be impracticable. All things will remain as is except Power is applied to create an effect in the direction of the Power applied.
It is Power that brought about the creation of the earth wherein we (now) dwell, it is Power that maintains the earth and the future of the earth is predicated upon the Power that would direct its course. All things are subject to some Power or the other that directs, control or affects it.
According to the Bible, “God rules by His power forever…” (Psalm 66:7 KJV). Giving the notation of the reference Scripture, it is clear that whereas God can direct, control, and affect all things by His Power, God is not, neither could be directed, controlled, and affected by anything. About God’s eminent power, God said, “See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” (Deut. 32:39 KJV) It is upon the good understanding of the nature and scope of God’s Power, that all must fear Him, follow Him, Trust Him, and obey Him…it is about the nature and scope of His Power that “all things are possible” with God.
Beloved, it is folly to trust in other gods who could not rule or endure forever as the God of Heaven, neither is there any course to fear them whose power can be overturn by the Almighty God. It is about this that the Bible says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;… God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. (Psalm 46:1-5 KJV). Let us therefore rest in the ability and the authority of The God Almighty to save to the uttermost. Amen!
