And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? (Luke 12:16-17)
“The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully…”; everyone has an allocation of the earth (ground) to him or her. This truth may not be easily comprehensible, understood or unraveled to a natural/carnal person but the reality is that there is an allocation of ground (earth) to you and me. Consider the notation in the parable reference in the scripture above; the ground was specifical referenced to its owner; “the ground of a certain rich man…”.
The notice and comprehension of this truth would therefore reinforce our respective responsibility to the ground (earth) apportioned to us to give earnest and focused attention to cultivate and prepare our ground to harness and derive the profit latent in it for our blessings and greater good.
Consider what the Bible says about someone who neglected to care for the ground (earth) allocated to him; “I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.” Prov. 24:30-34 NIV)
As God by the move and inspiration of His Blessed Spirit, tunned and turned our attention to the Profit of Earth, He does so with the view and purpose that we may gain light and truth about the fortune inherit in our respective field. Note how that, “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully…” (Luke 12:17 KJV) and about another, “the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins…” (Prov. 24:31 NIV); this is the plain reality about how each one may derive different result or product from the earth conditioned by how each person explore the “profit of the earth”.
Beloved we must awake to the fortune on our respective earth, field, and ground; the fortune (profit) of the Earth is so pervasive and persistent that there is no need or occasion for anxiety, nervousness or stampede except that each one (according to the Word of the Lord) should “Break up your unplowed ground and do not sow among thorns. (Jer. 4:3 NIV) and the earth will yield its increase unto us in Jesus Name. Our respective ground is represented by the skill, talent and/or special giftings the Lord has provided or endowed us with respectively. Let us; therefore, Awake!
