Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11:28 KJV)
In God’s relations and interactions with Man; God has always been faithful, true, committed, harmless and blameless. The nature and character of God must naturally endear and encourage Man to walk with Him, believe in and commit to Him. How important for us to know God…this is the only way we can truly love, fear and trust Him.
Consider the veracity and exactness of His promises for instance; the Bible says; “Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Heb. 6:17-20). Beloved, God does not lie. It is central and fundamental to our relationship with God that nothing changes in God’s commitments to us and should anything change it can only be traced to Man.
Now, giving God’s opened door to Man; talking about entering into the redemption Christ purchased for us through His body (See Col. 1:19-22); we must both be urgent and instant to play our role and participate fully in the redemption plan and program. We must understand that God alone is not responsible for the events and outcome of our lives. We collaborate with Him to see God’s plan, purposes and pleasures fulfilled in our lives. We cannot lose sight of this very important truth.
Man’s inconsistencies and contradictions have been the crux and limiting effects of God’s interactions with Man. Would Man; representing you and I, realize and apprehend the sincerity required of us to walk with God, we soon should be that unique and peculiar persons preferred above all “…for God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.” (Acts 10:34-35). We need to return and revise those qualifying terms and conditions to inheriting the promises of God that earn us drawing rights of kingdom privileges.
The door to God’s eternal rest is opened, there is therefore no limitation to the treasury of God or hindrance to His glorious presence; the veil is rent (Matt. 27:51) and we can approach without reproach rather boldly, “…the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Heb. 4:16)…but are we interested?
Notice what Heb. 4:1 says, Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. (Heb. 4:1) in fact Bible went further to describe some to whom it was first preached and how they could not enter; not because God reneged on His promise but these would not play their part…”Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: (Heb. 4:6).
We must learn and glean from these things written and communicated to us…we must fear not to miss God or inherit His glorious plan for our lives. What must we do? Therefore, since these [great] promises are ours, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates and defiles body and spirit, and bring [our] consecration to completeness in the [reverential] fear of God. (2 Cor.7:1)
