Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, (Phil. 2:9 KJV)
Promotion is good and a very desirable thing. It is the process of being elevated from one level to a higher level. It confers higher privileges and more rewards. It heightens one’s visibility and recognition and grants more authority with wider sphere of influence. Promotion makes one greater.
It must however be noted; prior to the promotion, there is a somewhat excruciating process of verification to assess the suitability and fitness of everyone being considered for Promotion. The process is not expected to be partial, parochial or sectional but rather an honest and safe validation of justice and fairness to reward competence, commitment and devotion as Promotion is a just means to expand and extend a course through someone who has insightful understanding of the course and is fit to grow it.
In the verification process leading to Promotion, there are outlined basis against which performance must be measured to validate the considered Promotion. Based on the Position being considered, certain qualifiers are designed and defined that makes prospective candidate fit for consideration. It is the matching of the qualifiers that validates the Promotion extended or delivered.
Therefore, Promotion is clearly not an act of favor rather a just recompense of reward for commitment to a course. It may in-fact become unjust to deny or delay one who’s best fit to be promoted as rightly due. Having done what is required, promotion is a necessary next step.
The Bible says something we must note and notice about promotion; it says, “For Promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. (Psalm 75:6-8 KJV)
We must note here that there is Promotion indeed and the true judge is God. He is so true and just. This must motivate us and also comfort us that we will never be deprived or manipulated to derive what is due and just as God is the judge…Praise the Lord.
To earn Promotion, we must therefore be acquainted with the requirements outlined to gain it so one may apply him/herself. Consider what the Bible says about God’s promotion, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” (James 4:10 KJV). Humility is a requirement to earn God’s promotion.
I will desire and encourage us to research the topic “Humility” and apply ourselves to understanding it and…in due time God shall promote us. I wait to see you Promoted!
