Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: (Eccl. 11:7 KJV)
God’s will for Man is to walk in the Light. It is our being in the Light as God is Light that makes our relationship with God true and meaningful. This must be our understanding and reality.
The Bible put it thus, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:5-7 KJV). As Children of God, our domain is the domain of Light, as he (God) is in the light. This is the validation of our experience and fellowship with God.
We must however understand the concept of God being Light and He, being in Light to establish and experience relationship with Him. The Light that characterized the domain of God’s Light is not the same as the Daylight, Sunlight, Moonlight, Bulb light or any such Light that we may so “physically” be familiar with. Plainly, to walk in Sunlight or Daylight does not constitute walking or fellowship with God, neither does walk in a dark room, for instance is being without God.
Jesus said, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12 KJV). Notice, there is the light of life when we follow Jesus. This is the light that initializes and our primes relationship with God.
Beloved, Jesus is the Word of God, the reality of being in the Light or following Jesus, is eminently patterning our lives after the prescription of the Word of God, codified in the Bible or prompted by the leading of God’s Spirit. When we follow the Word of God, we walk in Light and shall have the light of life.
It is this Light of Life experience that the Bible aptly describes as being SWEET. Adapt this lifestyle and enjoy
