‘To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:’ (Romans 2:7 KJV)
Our lives, activities, and transactions are increasingly being administrated by quick and fast imperialisms. We are constantly be agitated to gain and get instant gratifications.
From fast foods to fast downloads, instant and live streams, fast jetliners, automobiles, etc. We are perennially becoming intolerant to patiently waiting for anything, including expectations in human relationships. We are just intolerant to anything the slowly gravitate to culmination.
This fastidious approach in managing expectations, despite its gains in efficient technologically products and improved service delivery has inadvertent corrode and is destroying the necessary tolerance to manage delay or unmet expectations. It is this growing tendency in instant gratification that has heightened the agitation and frustration in our family unit and general society; painfully.
The Scriptures has a different insight and outlook. New Life Version of the Bible puts it thus, “Those who keep on doing good and are looking for His greatness and honor will receive life that lasts forever.” (Romans 2:7 NLV). The note and notice is the “Keep on doing…”.
We are increasingly becoming disinterested in keeping on doing what is good or necessary. We promptly interrupt the download if it is delayed or not “instant”. Computers have been designed to ‘plead’ against terminating a downloading or system updates noting users’ impatience.
This impatience has permeated our general life and society that we have become impatient and intolerance to long Sunday Church Service, studying the Bible for long or long person prayer life. Little wonder there is growing and long hardship and troubles.
Beloved, if we seek glory, honor and immortal life, a life and lifestyle that cannot be extinguished by death, a life governed and administered by the life type of God, we must patiently continue to doing what is right to see the outcome we expect. Be guided.
