But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil (Psalm 92:10 KJV)
God anoints the Man He uses. We must gain this notice and value it. Anointing is the mark of one’s separation as a vessel for Holy use. It is the mark of consecration that evidences God’s interest in a person and separation to Himself as an instrument for His purpose and service. The word ‘Anointed’ is a sacred term used to reference God’s Ministers.
The term was introduced as God directed Moses to construct a Tabernacle to house the Ark of Covenant that evidenced the presence of God among the tribes of Israel as they traversed from Egypt to Canaan; the Land God promised their Father Abraham.
In the course of their journey, God said to Moses; their leader, “Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering… And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. (Exo. 25:1-8 KJV) The design, materials and furnishings of that Sanctuary or Tabernacle were specific and unique with a strong caution that Moses should have it constructed “…according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” (Exo. 25:40 NIV). The design, construction and furnishing of the Tabernacle were so grand and grandiose that special Holy garments were described and developed for the named Ministers who would minister before the Lord in the Tabernacle.
About these named Ministers the Lord said, “And for Aaron’s sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office. (Exo. 28:40-41 KJV)
We must note that God is clearly definite about how what pertains to Him must be organized and managed. The importance of this notice is our conscious awareness that God has a defined or prescribed method to have His works done. Ignorance or departure from the God’s prescribed method or pattern could have unpleasant consequences; not because God is wicked or unkind but rather things were not done after the due order (1 Chron. 15:13 KJV)
Beloved, we must note that God anoints them that minister unto Him. The anointing of God is to consecrate, hallow and designate one as God’s needed and using vessel. The anointing separates one from common or regular use unto an elevated and stricter order of service unto the Lord. It is an order of separation that extradites one unto a noble, higher and far more significant use. It is a separation unto honor, glory and beauty. This is the noble and attending privilege of being anointed. The anointing briskly makes one The Priest of the Most High.
As Christians, we a Nation of Priests unto the God, Lord Jesus Christ being the High Priest of the new order. A band of God’s Anointed Ministers who minister unto the Lord not (any more) in Tabernacle made with hands but that without Hands to offer spiritual sacrifices that are well pleasing unto the Lord to direct and administrate His government here on the earth. It is unto this noble course that the Lord hath both appointed and anointed you and I. Praise the Lord!
