The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters (Psalm 29:3 KJV)
Voice is the sound produced by the modulation or vibration of the vocal folds (larynx) to verbalize the Words organized in communication. Without the voice, no words will be communicated; one will be inaudible, unclear or incommunicado. Voice characteristically delivers or conveys one’s Word. It aids our communication and interaction.
The magnificent and notable effect of voice is highlighted when someone “loses his/her voice”; a condition described as laryngitis resulting from viral infection occasioned by flu, cold or other ailing condition. The unease motion of using other means to communicate or gain attention could be excruciating and agonizing. The sometimes few words uttered quite so effortlessly with a voice could take lengthy time to be expressed in some other ways including writing. Voice is thereby a suitable and magnificent enabler that makes our life including verbal communication seamless and grand. We shall not lose our voice in Jesus Name.
Voice is also a unique identifier. Quite readily, in our daily interaction we recognize friends, families and relations, colleagues by their respective and unique voices. It is this unique element of voice that has made the technological innovation of voice recognition possible in computational linguistics allowing devices and security gadgets to gain recognition or identification to grants security access or clearance. Voice is a marvelous and insightful creation of God. We thank God, He gave us voices. Praise the Lord.
It is cruelly irrational therefore, to imagine that God who so marvelously created Man with Voice would be inaudible or voiceless. It will be inadmissible to further imagine that His voice is not identifiable, distinguishable or recognizable. We must be able to identify God when He is the one speaking. About Himself, Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine…My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” (John 10:14,27 KJV) Notice, Jesus was definite and clear about His being identifiable by His Voice. This is the urgent and important task for His sheep therefore to be able to identify His voice among many or various voices.
Consider what the Bible says about The Lord and His Voice, “The voice of the Lord is over the waters…” (Psalm 29:3 KJV) This is a major and important clue on how to identify, locate or recognize the Voice of God. The Bible says, “The voice of the Lord is over the waters…” inferring one can locate, recognize or trace, identify His voice “over the waters”. Where then is the waters?
The Psalmist says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:1-3 KJV). The Words of God, copiously bound together in the Bible is typified as rivers of water and everyone who mediates on the Word of God as tree planted by the rivers of water.
Everyone who reads the Bible often so regularly will doubtless recognize the voice of God as His voice is over the waters. Have you heard God lately? Turn to your Bible.
